Mark and I started this blog when we moved to Denver as a way to keep our family and friends updated on our new life in the Wild West. Since then, life has gotten a little more wild - there is now a third member of the Ferrari Ackerman family! We are so excited to welcome Sofia Alora to the world, and plan on reinstating this blog as a way to include you in all the fun of our days with her.
Our first day at home has been incredibly sweet. Grandma Jean and Grandpa John were here to welcome us, and shortly after our arrival Fo and Claudia stopped by with a homemade lasagna for dinner. We enjoyed eating ANYTHING that wasn't hospital food, but it was especially nice to sit down around Claudia's incredible cooking and share dinner as a party of three... three generations, that is.
Later, Grandma and I read stories to Sofia in front of the Christmas tree: The Lighthouse Santa, which was a gift from one of the principals I work with, and The Polar Express. Throughout the day and night, Mark and I fed Sofia in her room, which has been completed with gorgeous curtains made by Grandma Jean.
This morning, Mark and I snuggled with Sofia in bed for a while before bringing her down for breakfast and a ride in her snazzy new swing (a shower gift from Greg and Kim Guice). These are just a few examples of the love of family and friends that fills our every moment, even if those people are further away than they and we would like! We leave you with a little photo and a promise to update this blog as often as our little princess's schedule allows.
